The owners of a pet store in Sydney’s inner west will face court on animal cruelty charges.

The couple, of Ashfield, will appear in Burwood Local Court on Thursday on a total of 16 charges.

The allegations relate to the care of animals at the Burwood Pet Shop.

The owners have been charged with failing to provide proper and sufficient food to an animal and failing to provide veterinary treatment.

They are also charged with 12 counts of failing to comply with pet store regulations.
