RSPCA Bendigo will extend its adoption honrs to allow more time for residents to find their new best friends.
The twilight adoption program hours will be extended to 7pm on Thursdays and the program will run until mid March.
Twilight adoption is hoped to allow professionals, families with children and people who maintain busy schedules on the weekdays and weekends. with the chance to attend the RSPCA shelter after normal hours.
RSPCA Bendigo spokesman Tim Pilgrim said there were 29 dogs and 28 cats in need of a new home this Christmas.
All RSPCA animals are health and temperament tested, vaccinated, wormed, desexed and microchipped.
The RSPCA also has adoption officers who give expert advice on choosing the right pet in order to suit lifestyle, property and financial commitments and to ensure those who adopt pets meet the needs of the animal.
Mr Pilgrim wanted to remind anyone thinking of adopting a pet that it is a lifetime commitment.
Before people attend the adoption centre, pictures of all the animals needing a new home are able to be viewed online at http://www.rspcavic.org – JONATHON HOWARD
